Vintage Fully Forged Style Chef Knife with Carbon Steel Blade & Wood Handle. Wusthof was founded in 1814 in Soligen of Germany. It was owned privately by the same family for seven generations. All of the knives and forks are precision forged through a manufacturing process of 40 steps.
It is well-known for making quality kitchen shears, pocket knives and other cooking accessories. This knife is made in the famous city of blade Solingen, Germany. Solingen is renowned for manufacturing of fine swords, knives, scissors, and razors. This knife has the blade fully forged from the fine carbon steel designed to take a finer edge and hold it longer providing razor sharp cutting satisfaction.
The handle is triple riveted over the full tang to sure fitting for durability, strength, and balance. WUSTHOF - DREIZACKWERK --- ca. Model Number 147 - 8.Weight 6 - 7 oz. Grinding on the spine of the blade near the handle & dented handle (last two photos), blade structure and handle structure are good. Maintenance Suggestion: Hand wash only in warm water after using, especially if used on foods that have acidic sauce/liquid. After washing it, wipe the blade and handle completely dry.
