Antique Nogent Style Boning Utility Knife with Carbon Steel Blade, Bolster, Inlay, & Wood Handle Made by. Goodell Company was founded by David Harvey Goodell in 1875 in Antrim, New Hamshire. His company made knives and a collection of various cutting devices including apple peelers.
The company lasted till 1983 when it was bought by Chicago Cutlery. This knife has the blade hand forged from the fine carbon steel and tempered to achieve greater toughness. Providing the long-lasting keen edge cut-ability. The knife is fitted with the handle and secured with one bolster to good fitting. Late 19th Century - Early 20th Century.Weight 3 - 4 oz. Missing inlay (last photo), handle structure is good. Maintenance Suggestion: Hand wash only in warm water after using, especially if used on foods that have acidic sauce/liquid. After washing it, wipe the blade and handle completely dry.
