Made in Philadelphia by Plumb this is, without a doubt, one of the finest and most beautiful meat cleavers ever made in the USA.

Plumb was better known for making bladed tools and weapons, especially for the US military, but this cleaver is as good as it gets by any standard. As you can see in the photos it is offered here in excellent condition, an absolute work of the cutler's art--and a MUST HAVE for the serious chef, butcher or collector alike. If you hunt, raise livestock or just prefer to butcher your own meats, you'll be hard-pressed to find finer for putting to work despite its being well over 100 years old. It was forged using some of the finest steel ever affixed to a chef's knife, and is offered here fresh from the professionals at Ross Cutlery in downtown Los Angeles, the best in the business, who have given it the EXPERT edging all great knives deserve but so seldom receive. As such it's now WICKEDLY sharp in a way that few knives ever can be and it's guaranteed to THRILL user and collector alike.

Condition is excellent with a wonderful patina over its cherrywood handle and damascus carbon steel blade, which is anchored at bolster using a dome-shaped carbon steel ferrule, then iron-riveted over a full and tapered tang with an iron safety catch at its pommel to prevent slippage under even the coldest or wettest condiitions. It will provide its lucky new user with heirloom quality for use, for display and for posterity. Measures 14-5/8" long with 7" by 5.75 blade, but in terms of beauty and utility, comes up HUGE by any measure!
