This is a superbly crafted, extra-EXTRA-large piece in remarkably well-preserved condition. Made in the 1940's-50's in Germany by Wusthof, this outstanding piece was made with a hand-forged carbon steel blade with integral blade/bolster/tang construction, gorgeous ebony handles triple riveted onto its full and tapered tang. It's blade is made of beautiful carbon steel, and will hold a razor's edge, with relatively easy honing.

Having been professionally edged for this sale it is SCARY sharp now--far sharper than when it first left the factory and guaranteed to thrill even the most jaded user. Wusthof, Dreizackwerk, Solingen, Germany, High Carbon Steel (with trident logo), 147/12. The knife predates the industry's conversion from virgin steel to recycled and represents a level of craftsmanship and quality that are now lost to the economic realities of our age.
