John Hasselbring Antler @ Sterling Silver Cutlery 3 Piece Carving Set Vintage

HASSELBRING ANTLER AND STERLING 3 PIECE CUTLERY SET. John Hasselbring is known for his use of deer antler for handles in his creations. And often combined antler with sterling silver.

This 3 piece cutlery et consist of. CARVING KNIFE 11 3/4 INCHES 13. POULTRY SHEARS 12 1/4 INCHES 13.16 OUNCES.

All pieces have matching polished deer antler handles with the antler portion approximately 4 inches on each. The quality, color and depth of the antler is excellent. Tops and bottoms are capped in heavy sterling. The bottoms are about quarter size with a rim around it. The pieces are marked JH STERING 40 FOR JOHN HASSELBRING COMPANY BROOKLYN, NEW YORK. The poultry shears is also marked CHROME PLATED MADE IN USA. Very difficult to photograph the marks as they are in a circle around the silver caps so i have one bottom pictured with the word stering and one top where you can see the JH in front of the sterling mark. The knife and fork have a chrome X shaped piece between the antler and the stainless ends so they will rest on a table. The pieces are all in exceptional pre owned condition and appear to have never been used The knife blade has never been sharpened. No damage or dents to the sterling silver. There is no original box. This is a quality cutlery set by a well known silversmith with the 3 pieces weighing 26.32 OUNCES and the poutry shears alone weighs 13.16 ounces.

The antler quality is pristine as you can see from the close up photos and the piece are matched perfectly in size and shape. Some color reflection on the chrome in my photos but everything is clean and bright.
