8 Inch Butcher Cleaver w/Great Handle Inv#PH17. Foster Brothers was started in 1878 by Frank and Allie Foster in Fulton, (upstate) New York. During WWII Foster Brother's production focused on cleavers and butcher knives which were used in the military's food supply chain.

This has been totally cleaned and refurbished. It has some serious pitting in upper tip. The blade is sharp and it has two small nicks, one at tip and the other in center of blade which could be honed out. The handle is in great shape and is tight and secure, it has a great feel and wonderful patina. Blade length: 8" W x 5-3/8" at highest point. The cleaver's overall length: 15 L. It weights 2.1 lbs. Overall in EXCELLENT Clean and usable condition. Feels sharp but you might want to hone for optimal use. I try to describe my finds as accurate and as fair as possible.
