Of Greenfield, Massachusetts and a finer knife of its kind would be hard to name. To say the least, it is one of the very finest slicing knives or fillet knives you'll EVER find on this planet. With a blade hand-forged from the finest carbon steel, it may appear modest at first glance, but this little baby is a true barracuda, possessing one of the finest carbon steel blades ever affixed to a handle for use in preparing food.

After using it, you'll find there are few words which adequately describe its performance more than just plain Wow! It was expertly hafted with old-growth rosewood handles over a full and tapered tang using iron pins in the classic antique 6-pin pattern. It's a design that favors a lighter-weight, higher degree of balance and, in my humble opinion, true craftsmanship and beauty in a chef's knife.

If you're someone who knows the FEEL of fine knives, you won't have to use this knife twice to understand what it's capable of, and you will experience nothing short of a revelation of performance. It comes in a very fine quality cowhide sheath that was made in Bradford, PA by Case XX. Fits like the proverbial glove. It's made in a nice, larger size, measuring 17.75" overall with 12.25" blade, capable of dispatching into boneless fillets even the largest prize-winning halibut or other seamonster you might land. It is rare to be found at all, especially with its handle intact, as this one is, with none of the hairlines that so often bedevil this design (one of the photos make it appear to have a hairline but it does not). The knife has been used and sharpened, as the photos show, but always expertly, and you'll find that it WICKEDLY sharp on arrival and VERY easy to keep it that way. We had it professionally buffed and edged for this sale and it's now FAR sharper than when it was new. The entire piece has been smoothed over by the passing of many years and the touch of many hands--the truest testament to its usefullness over a LONG period of time.. With love and an occasional coating of non-toxic mineral oil, it will continue to deliver a lifetime of outstanding service over time.
