1881 Harrison Bros & Howson Cutlers to her Majesty. Sterling Silver Mounted Antler Bone. I was having fun taking arty pics of the large fork, so I included two of them. I could not figure out how the stand works on the smaller fork. It's such a simple mechanism on the large fork that I don't think anything is broken. If someone out there knows how it balances I'd love to know. These may once have had the exterior sheath of the antlers but I happen to really dig the smooth hand feel of them.
They have a great tactile quality. I think it's so cool that this set has history. It belonged to my great aunt's husband who died many many years before I was born.
He was a diplomat and entertained often. You can see all the marks on the blades from being hand sharpened. This wasn't a set that collected dust. With a sharpening and a polishing this set can be revived to its 141 year old glory.
The sharpener has a chip in the handle. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Kitchen & Home\Flatware, Knives & Cutlery\Flatware Sets". The seller is "whoopssica" and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.
