Antique Light Weight Light Duty Cleaver Knife with Light Thin Solid Carbon Steel Blade & Wood Handle. Foster Brothers Cutlery Company was founded by Frank and Allie Foster in 1878 in Fulton, New York. In 1904, John Chatillon & Sons Company acquired Foster Brothers Cutlery and changed the name to Foster Bros & Chatillon Company.

Has the blade forged from the fine solid carbon steel. The handle is single pinned over the full tang and single ferruled to sure fitting for durability, strength, & balance. It has the light weight designed for light poultry cutting and chopping jobs. Pitting patina on both sides of the blade & cracked handle (last three photos), blade structure and handle structure are good.

Maintenance Suggestion: Hand wash only in warm water after using, especially if used on foods that have acidic sauce/liquid. After washing it, wipe the blade and handle completely dry.
