Vintage XL Fully Forged Style Chef Knife with Carbon Steel Blade & Wood Handle. Ed Wusthof or Dreizack was founded in 1814 in Solingen of Germany. It was owned privately by the same family for seven generations. All of the knives and forks are precision forged through a manufacturing process of 40 steps. It is well-known for making quality kitchen cutlery, shears, pocket knives and other cooking accessories.

Hoffritz was established in 1930s in New York. They were importer, retailer, and wholesalers of a wide range of cutlery products including knives, razors, and scissors.

Most of their products came from the better quality makers mostly in Italy, Germany, and France. This knife is made in the famous city of blade Solingen, Germany. Solingen is renowned for manufacturing of fine swords, knives, scissors, and razors. This knife has the blade fully forged from the finest carbon steel designed to take a finer edge and hold it longer providing sharp cutting satisfaction. The handle is triple riveted over the full tang to sure fitting for durability, strength, & balance.

Pitting patina on both sides of the blade (last two photos), blade structure is good. Maintenance Suggestion: Hand wash only in warm water after using, especially if used on foods that have acidic sauce/liquid. After washing it, wipe the blade and handle completely dry.
