Vintage Lamb Splitter Butcher Knife. With Carbon Steel Blade & Wood Handle Made by. Foster Brothers Cutlery Company was founded by Frank and Allie Foster in 1878 in Fulton, New York. In 1904, John Chatillon & Sons Company acquired Foster Brothers Cutlery and changed the name to Foster Bros & Chatillon Company.

Its brands include Foster & Fulton. Has the blade hand forged from the carbon steel. The handle is triple riveted over the full tang to sure fitting for durability, strength, & balance. Pitting patina on both sides of the blade & cracked handle (last three photos), blade structure and handle structure are good. Maintenance Suggestion: Hand wash only in warm water after using, especially if used on foods that have acidic sauce/liquid. After washing it, wipe the blade and handle completely dry. Use of electric knife sharpener or dishwasher not recommended.
