Vintage Chef Knife with Carbon Steel Blade & Wood Handle. Foster Brothers Cutlery Company was founded by Frank and Allie Foster in 1878 in Fulton, New York.
In 1904, John Chatillon & Sons Company acquired Foster Brothers Cutlery and changed the name to Foster Bros & Chatillon Company. This knife has the blade forged from the fine carbon steel designed to take a finer edge and hold it longer providing sharp cutting satisfaction. The handle is triple riveted over the full tang. To good fitting for durability, strength, & balance. Weight 6 - 7 oz.Pitting dark patina on both sides of the blade & dented handle (last three photos), blade structure and handle structure are good. Maintenance Suggestion: Hand wash only in warm water after using, especially if used on foods that have acidic sauce/liquid. After washing it, wipe the blade and handle completely dry.
