Large, Vintage Dansk Odin Flatware Plus Extras Description and Item Information Up for sale is this large lot of vintage Dansk modernist design stainless steel flatware. Please excuse any glare in the photos.
Included are 75 pieces of Dansk Odin flatware, plus 3 pieces of Dansk Variation V flatware. All measurements below are approximate. Also, the piece names that I have used are based on general flatware knowledge, but Dansk may have assigned different names to the differently sized spoons, forks, etc. The Odin set includes the following pieces: (11) 6 7/8" salad forks (12) 7 3/4" dinner forks (12) 8 7/16" dinner knives (10) 6 1/4" teaspoons (11) 8 1/2" iced tea spoons (12) 7 3/4" soup spoons 2 piece salad server set (paddle-shaped fork and spoon, each 8 5/8") (1) 6 1/2" butter knife (2) paddle-shaped 6 5/8" serving spoons (2) 6 7/8" place spoons The Variation V pieces include (1) 6 1/2" salad fork and a 2 piece salad serving set (fork and spoon, each 8 1/2").
The pieces weigh 9 pounds 14.6 ounces, unpacked. This grouping would be an excellent addition to a collection of Dansk Design items. Identification These pieces are vintage, but the exact ages are not known. They are from a northern California estate.
Most of the pieces were made in Germany, except for 3 pieces which were made in Finland (the Variation V salad fork and salad serving set) and 2 pieces which were made in Korea (the 6 7/8 Odin place spoons). An example of a German mark is shown. Condition The pieces look good overall, with some wear from use and storage. I have not polished or cleaned the pieces. There are scuffs, scratches, and minor dullness areas.
There are scattered, tiny dark spots, scattered water spots, and there is minor soiling to some of the pieces. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made. And international government regulations prohibit such behavior.
