Antique Fine Nice Toughened Paring Knife with Carbon Steel Blade & Bone Handle Made by. Lamson & Goodnow Manufacturing Company.

Lamson & Goodnow Manufacturing Company (or LongCap Lamson Products LLC). Was founded by Ebenezer G.

Lamson in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts in 1837. It has many trade names including Lamson & Goodnow, Lamson, Lamsonsharp, Hoffritz.

Lamson products are still handcrafted in Massachusetts by American workers. This knife has the blade hand forged from the fine carbon steel and tempered to achieve greater toughness providing the long-lasting keen edge cut-ability. The two-piece bone handle is tightly bonded to the blade, double pinned over the full tang and double bolstered to good fitting for durability, strength, & balance. The trade mark on the blade is almost completely gone (photo 3).

It is Lamson & Goodnow. The knife has the wonderful condition.

Great to collect or even reuse. LAMSON & GOODNOW --- ca.

1860 - Early 20th Century. Maintenance Suggestion: Hand wash only in warm water after using, especially if used on foods that have acidic sauce/liquid. After washing it, wipe the blade and handle completely dry. The above images and descriptions are copyrighted exclusively. None of the material may be copied or republished.
