From one of this country's most truly legendary names in fine knives comes this exquisitely crafted antique butcher knife, crafted in Connecticut by Winchester.

It's fine, hand-forged carbon steel blade is stamped, Winchester, Trade Mark, Made in U. 1037 in the company's signature script. It's a premium-grade piece and an older one, made with a highly-desirable, clad-pewter bolster, even more beautiful in person than the digital photos make it look. This bolster not only strengthens the critical juncture where blade meets its rosewood handle but also prevents food debris from entering the handle, which can degrade a knife over time. As photos show, it's still in very good condition with no problems of any kind and ready to work at the highest level right out of the box.

For the purpose of this sale we've had it professionally edged by the good people at Ross Cutlery in downtown Los Angeles, the best in the business. As such it's FAR sharper than when it was new, guaranteed to thrill even the most jaded veteran user. While it obviously has some collector value, it'd be a shame to let a blade this fine go unused. The knife's blade is razor sharp and ready to serve a useful lifetime of creating precise and authoritative cuts of your favorite meats, poultry, fish, tomatoes or whatever else you put in its way. The curvature of the blade is perfect, allowing you to make a perfect cut with just one stroke. This is a wonderful knife for serious use by amateur or professional chefs only and should be kept away from the hands of children and dabblers. NOTHING could do a finer job on dressing game and livestock.
