8 dinner knives 81/4 in. 10 dinner forks 71/2 in.

10 salad forks 6 in. 8 dinner spoons 71/2 in.

1 butter knife 61/2 in. This set of stainless steel flatware by the Amboss manufacturing company in Austria belonged to my grandmother. She acquired them likely in the 1940s or 1950s. Amboss appears to have ceased producing their various flatware patterns circa the 50s and 60s.

The pattern identification on this set, in the Mid-Century Modern style, is unknown and apparently rare. I've research Amboss flatware and have not come across this pattern anywhere. All pieces are stamped either "Amboss Austria 18/8" or "Thomas Rostfrei Austria". Thomas Rostfrei was a subset of Amboss. Three of the teaspoons have some rough edges on the bowls that might be garbage disposal damage, although it is not excessive. A skilled restorer could likely return them to a fine condition.

All other pieces have minor wear and tear, but overall are in quite good condition. No bends on handles or fork tines. Although stainless steel is dishwasher safe, I do not recommend it with these pieces.

Mild soap and water followed by a soft cloth polish will maintain the brilliant shine and limit scratching. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Kitchen & Home\Flatware, Knives & Cutlery\Flatware Sets". The seller is "frajes-78" and is located in this country: US.
