Vintage Huge Breaking Knife with Carbon Steel Blade & Wood Handle Made by Foster Bros. Foster Brothers Cutlery Company was founded by Frank and Allie Foster in 1878 in Fulton, New York. In 1904, John Chatillon & Sons Company acquired Foster Brothers Cutlery and changed the name to Foster Bros & Chatillon Company.
This knife has the blade forged from the fine carbon steel. Designed to take a finer edge and hold it longer. Double riveted over the full tang to sure fitting to make it both easy and comfortable to use.
This knife is Foster Bros. Weight 13 - 14 oz. Pitting or patina on both sides of the blade (last two photos), blade structure is good.
Maintenance Suggestion: Hand wash only in warm water after using, especially if used on foods that have acidic sauce/liquid. After washing it, wipe the blade and handle completely dry.
