This cleaver-knife is a beautiful example of enduring quality that will make a great addition to any decor or can be used physically as it is 100% sound in construction. The blade extends all the way through the handle making it a very strong tool. They don't make them like this anymore. The blade is stamped (and is readable) by the White manufacturing plant as having been made in 1837 and also stamped as #9 in a series.
The blade could be honed to razor sharpness but is still sharp in its present state. The handle is in near perfect condition and has not been replaced since it was applied 186 years ago?
